What customers say?

“ It's served freshly fried. I felt like it was a little overcooked overall. The tempura bowl for lunch seemed like a great deal. ”

“ Very authentic Japanese restaurant that was able to serve the veg varieties as well. So many servings made my belly bloat ”

“ This is Hageten, located in the basement of the Meiji Life building in Marunouchi. It's a tempura bowl for lunch, with 7-8 types of tempura, including conger eel and shrimp. The sauce is rich, and the deep-frying is as you'd expect from a famous restaurant. However, I personally would have liked a bit more rice. The red miso soup was with clams, but it lacked a bit of clam flavor. So while the food is four stars, the service was good overall, and the seating was like a semi-private room, which was very nice. ”

“ It was my first time here. The restaurant had a kitchen in the middle, with semi-private rooms lined up along the walls. The biggest attraction is that they carefully fry each item after you order, so you can eat it fresh! I ordered the Hageten special tempura bowl. The sweet and spicy sauce soaked into the tempura and rice and was absolutely delicious. I finished it before I could catch my breath! It was so good that I ordered one of the recommendations of the day. On this day it was swordfish. I dipped it in salt and a mixture of tempura sauce and grated daikon radish and took a bite each. The salt had a firm flavor that brought out the firmness of the white meat, while the grated daikon radish had a refreshing taste. The origin of the name Hageten is said to be that the first owner was completely bald, so customers only referred to the bald tempura restaurant as "Hageten." ”

“ Excellent service, delicious, very helpful to tourists ”

“ We used this restaurant for an in-house social gathering. It's a lively tempura restaurant where you can eat and drink in a relaxed atmosphere, and it's not too expensive, but it's very satisfying. The private rooms in the back are perfect for large groups. The staff are very polite and accustomed to serving customers. It's a restaurant I'd definitely like to use again. ”

“ Our favourite tempura place. We have been patronising Hage-Ten for a long time. Especially the restaurant at Tokyo Station basement which has been closed for renovation. This is ours first time at this location. The quality is maintained although the kakiage size has grown smaller throughout the years. The best way to enjoy tempura is with salt only. Not tsuyu but salt. ”

“ Great deal! Lunchtime takeout for 1,000 yen. They made it just as I ordered. It was freshly fried, hearty, and the sauce was just the right amount to make it delicious. I enjoyed the shrimp, vegetables, and various other toppings. If you visit the restaurant for lunch, the price is generous, including salad and miso soup. I think it starts at 1,850 yen. Takeout is a little pricey at 1,000 yen (tax included), but it feels like a great deal. It was quite delicious. Their lunch looked delicious on their website, so I thought I'd try it inside. Location: Enter MY PLAZA from Exit 3 of Nijubashimae (Marunouchi) Station. It's on the B2 floor, so go up one level to B1. Payment: Electronic payment accepted (credit cards and PayPay accepted) ”
